You might define this desire as a fire inside of you that consistently drives you forward. When you are passionate about updating and improving your view of the world around you, therefore enhancing your perception of reality and connecting you to the ultimate source of energy, you actively participate in the evolution of the collective consciousness. DID YOU KNOW? Spiritual Hack: This passion you have connects you to the true Source Creator, that which is all around and inside you.

First, let's take a step back.

What is cognitive dissonance?

According to cognitive dissonance theory, there is a tendency for individuals to seek consistency among their cognitions (i.e., beliefs, opinions). When there is an inconsistency between attitudes or behaviors (dissonance), something must change to eliminate the dissonance. In the case of a discrepancy between attitudes and behavior, it is most likely that the attitude will change to accommodate the behavior. -Instructional Design

To recap, generally speaking, humans would rather not change their thought patterns. Instead, they would rather change their behaviors to accommodate the old thought patterns already in place from before. It's much less likely that they will feel confident and comfortable in creating a new thought pattern and letting go of something that no longer fits into their world. It's more likely that humans will refuse to accept a new piece of data, to shift their understanding of the world, and to subsequently create a new behavior based on the new thought pattern. Engaging in the latter practice allows for consciousness expansion instead of stasis.

Let me give an example.

Every morning for or 20 years you woke up and watched the morning news on channel 777. You ate ice cream for breakfast, as you were taught this was the healthiest breakfast food you could possibly eat.

One morning you wake up and turn on the news, and the newscasters tell you that ice cream is actually really unhealthy to eat, and you should never eat it ever again. They present copious amounts of data to add to the evidence pool. Sources all over the world are jumping into the fray and are also presenting evidence to suggest this is true.

Disclaimer: this is just the beginning. I'm not endorsing the blind following of what the media tells you. Actually, I believe quite the opposite. When new data points enter your field this marks the very beginning of the conscious evolutionary process. Next, you must do your due diligence in researching the claims that others make, and the claims that you make, etc. Ok back to the example.

So, behold! The new piece of information enters your world.

This is an opportunity to do your own research and integrate this data point into your repertoire of wisdom. First, it requires a shift in thinking and the need to reboot your computer of experiences to re-contextualize your life to include this new data point. You would have to face the fact that you ate ice cream for breakfast every day for 20 years and this was actually detrimental to your health and then you would have to change your eating habits.

Change is uncomfortable. The human mind tends to war against "call to action" pieces of information and usually throws a temper tantrum in these instances. Because this type of information causes cognitive dissonance, you decide that the newscasters are full of it and must be wrong. So you change your behavior instead of updating your thought pattern about ice cream. You decide to never watch channel 777 ever again, and you continue eating ice cream every morning because surely the newscasters are wrong.

Turning away from the new thought pattern is much more comfortable than changing the way you think, and then updating your behaviors to coincide with those new beliefs.

Let's Face It.

Opening up to changing our thought patterns is almost NOT in our programming. In most cases, our upbringing has quashed out that inner curious child and instead taught us to toe the line and follow the rules. This has caused our minds to be aligned with stasis, a period or state of inactivity or equilibrium. We feel comfortable when our surroundings and the data input we receive from our surroundings confirm that which we already know to be true.

Have you ever heard of inattentional blindness?

The guys over at Smithsonian Magazine did an experiment in 2012. Check it out:

In our best-known demonstration, we showed people a video and asked them to count how many times three basketball players wearing white shirts passed a ball. After about 30 seconds, a woman in a gorilla suit sauntered into the scene, faced the camera, thumped her chest and walked away. Half the viewers missed her. In fact, some people looked right at the gorilla and did not see it. -Daniel Simmons, Smithsonian Magazine

What Does this Mean?

Well, one might make the following conclusions:

  1. We have a tendency to miss the truth, especially when it is staring us right in the face.

  2. The louder the evidence, the tighter we grip the stranglehold on our limiting views of reality.

But What if I Told You This Isn't True?

Spoiler alert: This isn't true! Or more appropriately, it doesn't HAVE to be.

The Power of Choice

You, as a divine being on this beautiful planet, were gifted with the power of FREE WILL. You literally get to CHOOSE at every moment whether or not to fully engage with your experience. How do you interface with your perception of reality? Are you metacognitive about the thoughts you have and WHY you think them? (By the way, metacognition is "thinking about thinking.")

Here's the deal, y'all.

Humanity is WAKING UP.

In a huuuuuuge way.

People are shucking off their limiting belief systems like crazy. And others are being pulled down into the depths of the prisons of their own design. A growing community of powerful thought leaders is organizing and choosing to spread this knowledge of the power of choice. You've been raised in a society that tells you to stay asleep. Will you choose to wake up? Will you choose to be the initiate or one who decides to walk the path toward higher consciousness? It's not the easy path, as I've described in this article. It's actually the path of Change.

The Path of Change

When you CHOOSE to change, you rewire your brain to allow for malleability inside your reality. You reserve the right to change your mind. When you practice letting go of those thoughts that keep you down and open your mind to the endless possibilities around you, you CHOOSE to walk into the Magician-state of consciousness. This allows you to enter your flow state or that state of mind where time ceases to exist and you are the child-like creator with all the tools at your disposal. Nobody can tell you what reality is because you are deep in the throes of discovering it for yourself! You are no longer a passive observer of reality, taking in other people's perspectives and regurgitating them as your own.

You are the Magician of your life and the Master of your experience.

So The Question is:

Are you aligned with Cognitive Dissonance or Cognitive Resonance?

When you are open to the possibility of new truth pouring into your existence at any moment, you let go of the thought forms that hold you in a state of cognitive dissonance or a static mindset. You are open to the idea that your life is always an outward spiraling journey, and then you let go of the need to know everything. You are not in fight or flight. You are not predisposed to get caught in fear-based thinking traps. You are in a leveled out state of being where you engage with your surroundings in a calm way without resistance to the thoughts and circumstances that arise. You are balanced between the wisdom you gain through life experience and the intuition of what your body tells you about your environment. You then are able to actively harness your discernment faculties, and make successful judgment calls about where to focus your attention and intention. You learn from the ebb and flow of your life and level up consistently based on new experiences. From this calm place inside your heart, you manifest a magical existence.

Remember who you are.

You can choose to become the initiate and wake up to the reality that you are a multi-dimensional soul inhabiting a physical body. You are a finite manifestation of the infinite, and the Source Creator flows inside you and all around you. Will you join the movement of people coming together to co-create a positive future for humanity? We do this by existing in that flow state of the present moment, dispelling fear, and opening our hearts to love, compassion, and forgiveness.

The time is now.

We are shifting in a huge way into the new Earth. Every day we choose whether to renew the world through openness or let it wither away through stasis. When you choose LOVE and open your heart, you literally bring your body, mind, and spirit into resonance. Be aware of your thoughts and beliefs. When you come into new information, be receptive to what you can learn from the experience.

As within, so without.

Don't let external forces push you around and tell you who you are. The answer resides inside your heart. Create from within and manifest outside of you. Don't block information from flowing through and around you. Be open to change. And know that you are so intensely divinely supported, that you are more safe and protected than you could ever know. Get lost in your experience. Feel every moment. And remember to be grateful for the life you've been given. This opportunity is precious. This life is yours. What will you create?
