Balancing the Root Chakra

Hi Divines!
Many systems govern the human body, and should be consistently nurtured and synergized in order to remain in balance. One of these systems is the spiritual system, or chakra system. Subtle energy fields flow through passageways in the human body called “Nadi.” Picture these passageways as spiritual blood vessels. The regulatory centers for these Nadi are called chakras. They reside in a meridian directly along the spine, from the base all the way up to the top of the head (and above).

I like to use chakras in my meditations because it helps me to visualize what I am balancing, and assists with the healing process. Today, we are going to focus on balancing the first chakra, or the base chakra. This is your spiritual center which connects you to this physical realm of existence, and Mother Earth.

The Root Chakra, or Muladhara, is at the base of the spine, and is the point through which Source energy flows up the body into the higher spiritual centers. Sit comfortably and close your eyes. Breathe calmly and deeply through your nose and out your mouth, and picture a four-petal red lotus flower opening and closing at the base of your spine. As you breathe in, picture the petals opening and letting in golden light, which streams up from Mother Earth through the soles of your feet and into this center. When you breathe out, picture the flower petals closing and pushing out any unwanted or unneeded colors or energies- fear, worry, stress, just let it all dissipate, float out and away.

When you breathe in, contemplate the stability of the the four-petaled lotus. Consider this: You are having this experience for a reason, and you are Divinely supported by the Universe. You have guides and angels protecting you from beyond the veil, and you also have soul brothers and sisters here in this very incarnation meant to help you and love you along the way. Mother Earth is supporting your feet this very moment. You are connected by Aethereal wires to her and all other beings on this Earth.

The root chakra is the center that grounds us into this reality, and through balancing this chakra we feel safe, secure, and tapped into this existence. Ask yourself these questions:
1. What are my favorite things about this life?
These are your connections to this planet that make you feel excited and motivated to create and manifest.
2. What is my purpose for living this life?
Following your goals grounds you in to this life even more, and makes you feel alive and productive. Visualize tapping into your flow state which allows you to manifest your dreams and turn them into reality.
3. How do I know that I am Divinely Supported by the Universe?
Think of one great example that proves to you that the universe is supporting you. Reflect on that. Let Gratitude fill your body.

Affirmation: “I am Safe, Secure and Grounded to this Planet. I am Present in the moment and fully engaged in my reality. I am Divinely Supported in my endeavors, and am Loved by the Universe. I am Divine Light and share this light with others.”

Now sit in a space of Gratitude for 3 minutes. If you can do this everyday, you will find that your interactions with others with improve, the thoughts inside your own head with sweeten, and you will start to feel more confident and happy. Gratitude for the life you’ve been given is paramount. Feeling Gratitude puts us in our natural heart space of flowing with the field of infinite possibilities and opens up our energy field to receive amazingly high-vibrational gifts from Spirit.

Get out there and love somebody!
